P&R Morson were appointed by Volker Fitzpatrick to design and install the M&E services for a 6 storey higher education building which includes a learning resource centre, lecture theatres, and associated areas such as black box dance studios, recording studios and a new performing arts centre.

Logistics were a major challenge as this job was being completed in Stratford right next to the Olympic Park during the 2012 London Olympics. Regular on site meetings between P&R Morson, client representatives and the main contractor ensured all logistics were coordinated in incredible detail, as there was no room for error.

Between July 2012 and August 2013, P&R Morson provided the full range of M&E services from design concept to installation including H&V services, BMS, domestic water services, above ground foul and storm drainage. P&R Morson installed small power lighting including emergency fire detection and IT requirements. The scheme also incorporated a PV system of circa 500 square metres.

The project achieved a BREEAM ‘Excellent’ due to its use of integrated PV façades, rainwater harvesting and intelligent control sensors to minimise energy consumption.
