P&R Morson is Top of the Class at Leicester Uni
P&R Morson is in the process of working on a £2 million building services installation as part of the £19.5 million refurbishment of Leicester University’s iconic Engineering Building.
A treasure of 20th century British architecture designed by Stirling & Gowan, the building is Grade II listed so design development and installation of mechanical and electrical services required close cooperation with both the University and Historic England.
P&R Morson works direct for the University in a contract that includes installation of new low pressure hot water (LPHW) and central
heating pipework, along with new chillers, heat emitters and a new air conditioning system.
The electrical services requirements includes new lighting, modifications to the small power installation and integration with the building management system (BMS).
Comments Paul Morris, Managing Director at P&R Morson: “This refurbishment has been described as a ‘once in a lifetime’ scheme by the project manager and we are delighted to have played a key role in extending the service life of this impressive piece of architecture for future generations.”
